After spending most of my December buying presents for family and friends for me there was no better way to reward myself for a good year then a good sale haul. Now I am a failure when it comes to shopping during the sales due to my lack of patience, I cannot stand wading through rails alongside the masses. Instead I always end up heading for the full price areas of stores but this year I changed tact and did 95% of my sale shopping online with a couple of specific pick ups coming from stores. Now I was sucked into buying some full price new season items ahead of the spring/summer season, one day I will learn….

now the varsity jacket I mentioned in a previous post from MKI Miyuki-Zoku so I won’t bore you with another paragraph on it. Let’s instead talk about the jeans! Now being a man that’s 6ft 4 tall leg wear as you can imagine is big a deal, and over the past few years I’ve been buying high street jeans that have been falling part after a year, if I was lucky! So in recent months I’ve made a conscious decision to invest properly into denim mainly to ensure getting good value.

The first of my denim pick ups is from Levi’s Vintage on Newburgh St which is just off Carnaby St. These jeans are 1969 606s in what is called a Highlander wash. The 606 was first introduced in the late 60s for what was an emerging new generation of brand fans who wanted a slimmer, more stylish look that wouldn’t break the bank. They are widely regarded as the original-skinny fit jeans. In terms of fit they sit right at the hip and taper from the side to the ankle. These were originally £165.00 and I got these for £82.00 and have already worn them and love them.

The second pair of jeans are from a brand called Our Legacy a brand that has only been around since 2005,

but they’ve got themselves a quite a reputation, especially when it comes to the ying & yang of torso-wear – shirts and sweats. Our Legacy is one of the top quality scandi brands which has emerged from Sweden. This jean is a great foray into the world of denim from the brand called First Cut, a simply styled slim fit jean with a mid height rise. A very minimal design in what has become Our Legacy signature. Yet to wear these but I can sense a new corner stone of my wardrobe has arrived. These I bought from END. Clothing for £69.00 and were originally £109.00.

Now I have been looking for a nice a cardigan for so many years and my favourite brand of the moment MKI Miyuki-Zoku have delivered with this Cashmere Merino PIN number, which is constructed from a soft cashmere and wool blend. The cardigan has a MKI logo pin to one side, ribbed front pockets and a MKI signature tag to the side. This was another pick up from END. Clothing which was full price but at £69.00 a bargain for such quality.

Following on from my recent purchase from Adidas the NMD Primeknits which was my first venture into Ultraboost technology, I needed more though they’re like gold dust. These in the chalk colour way took my eye during a venture into the Adidas store and were a impulse buy without doubt at £130.00.

Last but not least again from END. is this Barbour Castleford shirt which is a slim fit in 100% cotton with a soft handle. I’ve been looking for a nice navy check shirt which I could use for work to cocktail bar seamlessly, so this peaked my interest especially at £49.00 down from £69.00.

This is one sale season I personally feel was a success in terms of fit, bargains and new core additions.

How did you get on this sale?
